Our American system of democracy where the will of the people
rules is badly broken. The system now is the ruled by the rich people.
They contribute to the candidates for political office who when elected
owe them. That's oligarchy the rule of the wealthy. Benefits only a few of
the people. Not all.
Since the Supreme Courts ruling in “Citizens United vs. Federal Election
Commission” politicians work for the interests of large corporations that
are big donors to their campaigns. That allows super PAC organizations
to raise big money. When elected they pay them with legislative favors. Anybody that doesn’t go along won’t be in office for long.
